I read all his posts.  Inculding the multiple ones where he apologized 
for misunderstandings.  Stated clearly that he was not demanding 
anything, rather making suggestions for improvement(however misguided in 
tone or content), and acknowledged misunderstandings over terminology 
usage.

There was a similar dust-up several months ago over Open-GL and Scanline 
rendering with a lot of initial resisitance, and a few rude remarks.

Paris did not use profanity, or deride the povray authors ancestry.  His 
critiques were specific, and he used the commercial packages as 
references for feature comparisons.  IMHO, this newsgroup could use a 
little more tolerance to alternate viewpoints and newcomers.

If you read his website you would see that he is actually a fan of POV-Ray.
